Time (6 & 7)

Working on the video was fun! I was fascinated when I discovered the archive and realized how useful it was. I wasn’t previously aware that such archives existed and I used to wonder when I see some videos if each clip was shot by them.

By today I had completed most of my video but was yet to add the music. I showed it to the faculty as it was, so that I knew if I was going on the right track or not and if my concept would work. But when I did , I learned that we were only supposed to remove 5 images from our storyboards at max and add only 5 more from the archive.

This is my first rough draft

I was kind of disheartened because I had already cut down on a lot of videos I wanted to add that would make the video very impactful since my video is not just a story board that could be conveyed by some specific number of pictures.
Hence I began making the second draft.

In the seventh week lecture, I wrote a write up on some quotes we discussed:

“Time is a dreadful concept for traditional design, either completely eliminated or attempts made to restrain it in the design process”
“Designers consider their design as ‘pure’ & ‘perfect’, regardless of how harsh time can be to it.”

The concept of time doesn’t exist in an isolation. Time is a very significant element because it exerts an intense influence on every single object in the universe. Humans go through decay and death because they are subjects of time and so do designs. A design loses its significance and utility as time changes. Designs get old and destroyed. None can escape the ravages of time.
