Drawing (14)

Today, we were to showcase our 10 stories to the faculty and choose one from them. When I discussed with the faculty, he told me that some of my stories either didn’t focus on the main character or on the emotion. Finally, I came down to one storyboard, in which there’s a baby avocado throwing tantrums to get a toy.

After selecting the story, we had a further discussion about how exactly to portray it. We talked about how there are so many different ways to make it. Every person has their own style of rendering. It can be completely realistic or it can be cartoonistic or even abstract.

Sir also showed us the work of some graphic artists which were completely differing. He also pointed out how some of their work was completely minimalistic. I learned that sometimes even the littlest amount of detail is enough to convey the needed.

Thus, we were asked to think more about the graphic style and the rendering style. We also needed to focus more on the background and the context of the story – where is the story happening?

Hence, today we made the final framing and composition of our story along with the graphics.

Following is some of my process work that went into deciding the final framing, composition background and rendering style.
